CACDP Level 2 in British Sign Language
So, you have completed BSL Level 1 and want to go further. Then this course is for you. This qualification is divided into 3 sections, taught over 80 hours:
- BSL201 is for developing receptive skills. This unit covers 3 topics linked to meeting a deaf person: receiving specific information; understanding instructions/advice; understanding statements, explanations or descriptions.
- BSL202 is for developing production skills. This unit covers 2 topics when talking with a deaf person: using and combining simple structures and set phrases; using BSL appropriate to the context.
- BSL203 is for developing conversational skills. This unit covers 3 topics when conversing with a deaf person: understanding routine questions and responses; understanding requests and views; understanding the main points of routine conversations.
There are no examinations at the end of this course; qualifications are achieved via continuous assessment in which learning and assessment take place alongside each other.
