CACDP Level 1 in British Sign Language
CACDP Level 1 in BSL (British Sign Language) is for those who wish to learn BSL starting from scratch, or for those who have already learnt some BSL but wish to expand on their knowledge. BSL Level 1 is comprised of 3 units taught over 50 hours and leads to a formal qualification:
- BSL101 is an introduction to BSL; this unit covers 5 topics that teach you how to communicate when meeting a deaf person.
- BSL102 is the second step and will improve your BSL skills in conversation with a deaf person.
- BSL103 is aimed at developing BSL skills at school, college or in the work place.
There are no examinations at the end of this course. Qualifications are achieved via continuous assessment, in which learning and assessment take place alongside each other.
