Course Description

This SQA National Unit is designed to enable you to develop basic proficiency in British Sign Language (BSL). It will allow you to use and understand BSL in simple situations covering everyday personal matters, leisure activities, food and drink, hobbies, work and holidays.

During this course you will achieve the following SQA Learning Outcomes:

  1. Produce personal information for users of British Sign Language
  2. Respond to personal information produced by users of British Sign Language
  3. Receive information from simple presentations in British Sign Language

Winter Special £350

or £300 if booked with SQA Level 1 in BSL

BSL Practice Event - 18th March 2011

Enjoy putting all that you have learned into practice with our fun evening event where you will meet other Deaf people for a great BSL evening away from the classroom!

Important note:

Participants must be aged 16 years or over

Staff/teachers/assessors at Actual Signs have their own Disclosure certificate

All payments must be paid in full before the course starts. Charges will be imposed for late payments.

Refreshments: Tea/Coffee and biscuits will be provided. Candidates may bring their own lunch or visit a local café or shops. Kitchen facilities including fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle are available.
