NVQ Certificate Portfolio Completion

Induction Days

In the group induction days, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Learn more about the procedures of the Level 6 NVQ Certificate programme
  • Be clear about the roles and responsibilities of the NVQ team
  • Be aware of the policies set out by Signature and Actual Signs e.g. appeals
  • Understand the NVQ Standards
  • Plan and create different types of evidence
  • Find out more about collecting evidence and the paperwork in the portfolio

Following the four induction days, you will be allocated an assessor and can begin the process of collecting evidence. This will be compiled in a portfolio provided by Actual Signs. Evidence will be collected by you outside of the Actual Signs classroom and at our evidence collection days and will be reviewed in one-to-one tutorials with your assessor.

Tutorials

In your tutorials your assessor will:

  • Help you prepare your assessment plan
  • Analyse and give feedback on your evidence
  • Offer guidance about suitability of evidence and ways to improve
  • Provide advice and support with collecting evidence if any problems arise
  • Help to prepare the portfolio for final submission
Evidence Collection Days

In our evidence collection days, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Meet with a variety of Deaf people in our offices to film BSL video evidence for your NVQ portfolio.
  • Gather 1:1 formal and informal conversation BSL video evidence 
  • Gather group formal and informal conversation BSL video evidence
  • Ask for clarification about specific BSL signs, linguistic rules or from native BSL users
  • Ask for clarification about any aspect of the NVQ evidence collecting process
