This workshop will improve students' understanding and expand upon lexicon in the medical field. The workshop will focus on both productive and receptive BSL skills within this specialised area.

Actual Signs provides a safe, practical signing environment for BSL learning and discussion.

This workshop will help you to:

  • Expand your knowledge and skills of medical lexicon individually
  • Use different terminology e.g. jargon, abbreviation of words
  • NMF / facial expressions
  • Improve productive lexicon skills in BSL sentences
  • Improve receptive lexicon skills in BSL sentences
  • Sign correctly to "patients" in a professional capacity
  • Understand the implications for BSL when signing medical terms
  • Understand the sensitivity of BSL signs that may affect Deaf BSL users

Learn with a native BSL user to improve the fluency of your BSL and develop the standard of your vocabulary.
