It is sometimes difficult to know whether BSL signing is formal or informal so here is an opportunity to learn the difference between these distinct styles.
In the English language you know when and how to speak formally and informally. You might change your rhythm or tone of speech according to other people’s, you might want to demonstrate emotions such as anger or upset, reinforce your point of view, or just have fun and show that you are relaxed. The same can be conveyed with BSL.
Did you know that when speaking informally you can demonstrate tone of voice by changing the speed or frequency and applying metaphor in BSL?
This is a unique workshop designed to give you a fuller understanding of the formal/Informal linking of BSL to English to improve your signing fluency.
Actual Signs provides a safe, practical signing environment for BSL learning and discussion.
We only have 16 places available so book now to avoid disappointment!
